Let’s be honest, no one knows how to do a proper Chaturanga, but we sure will try.
We believe in a ‘practice makes imperfect’ philosophy. There are many things in life that just weren’t meant for us, there are also so many things that were, some known and some waiting to be discovered. But practice makes imperfect, and that’s exactly what we are; perfectly imperfect and truly trying.
Our mission is to inspire and empower those in search of self, and to serve as a reminder that we are all the same. Just like me they went through pain, just like me they don’t have all of the answers, and just like me they still don’t.
We are people for the people.
We are for the people who want to see real love. We are for the people who want to see true hope. We are for the people who want to feel something. We are for the people who want to be a part of something.
We are for the people who believe in change, genuine change.
TrooMe was born when founder Mahriana Smith, realized that she was trying to be everyone else in the world except herself.
“Throughout my life, I have searched for the places in which I might fit. Years were spent pretending, rather than embracing. Looking back on it, I can honestly say that I was terrified to truly be myself. I was terrified to find out who that self was. It’s easier to accept failure when it’s not you who is failing. I couldn’t stand the idea of failing as myself.
But there’s something truly beautiful and freeing about standing in your truth and saying ‘This is me, i’m not entirely sure what that means yet, but I intend to find out."
"May we come together as friends to one another, as teachers to one another and as a community, all connected, and tied tightly." -Mahriana Smith
